What is something you could do every day that would drive your quality of life way up???

The reason we say Working IN is because there is such a push in society to work harder.  Not seeing results in the gym?  Well then "work harder", that is what people will tell you.  "No pain no gain", they say. 

Well rowing harder won't work if your boat is headed in the wrong direction. That is why we have set up this message board.

In order for something to qualify as 'working in' it needs to generate more energy than what it requires to do it, here are some examples:

·         Ten minutes of deep breathing

·         Going for a relaxing walk

·         Reading a positive book

·         Tai Chi

·         Playing your guitar

·         Writing in your journal

·         Yoga

·          Stretching

·     Meditation

·     Zone Exercises

·         Reading your goals or powerful affirmations

 

We all have things that we know make us feel better..... but for some reason we don’t put ourselves first and just do it.

Whatever it is for you, stop right now and consider what would happen if you decided to do this for yourself every single day for 100 days.

This idea is coming from the concept of doing a ‘CHI GONG’.   A CHI GONG is when you make a contract with yourself to do Tai Chi for a set amount of time every day for 100 days.  If you miss a day you start counting again at day 1.

Note: I will have a video up very soon with the story of my first chi gong and a bit more of an explanation.

I understand two things:
1) not everyone is interested in doing Tai Chi
2) 100 days is a long time and a huge commitment

Just because you don’t do tai chi doesn’t mean you can’t use this concept to improve the quality of your life.  That is why I have made a few suggestions for other commitment to make to you.

If 100 days is too much, how about 30 days or even just start with one week.

It is our goal that this forum will become an incredible resource of ideas, inspiration, accountability and support for anyone who is interested in ‘Putting Themselves First’.

If you want to participate, put yourself first and start feeling the benefits, here’s what to do.

·         You decide what you want to do for yourself everyday

·         You decide how long you will spend doing it each day

·         You decide how many days in a row you will do this

·         Post it on the message board and update us on your progress

You will be able to check back to read words of encouragement from us and other visitors. 

You can also share and gain new ideas for ways to take a few minutes for yourself. 

As well as read or share short stories on the benefits you are feeling via this commitment to put yourself first.

If this sounds really appealing but you don’t know what to do for yourself just keep checking back and borrow someone else’s idea.  They will take it as a compliment that their commitment has inspired someone else.
